Question 84: When Winter Comes... by AnAdminNamedPaul Question 84: When Winter Comes... by AnAdminNamedPaul
December 11,

It's winter once again; meaning the Wind-talkers will be coming and I have to set up the offerings for them again in order to persuade, not only destroy the kingdom, but to have these beings to be on our services, in case of snow storms. This is going to be the first time I'll be doing this with Bit; I explained to him all the details, and I do hope he'll help me out in this. Given he wouldn't get freaked out.

Glob help me if he freaks out. =_=

***

Wind-talkers- lower elementals associated with blizzards, avalanches and frostbite; known for their brute strength and ghostly attributes, Wind-talkers are said to have the ability to control winter weather and are easily persuaded into servicing by offerings. What kind of offerings wouldn't matter; would it be fresh meat, harvests, or even gold and jewels, Wind-talkers never physically accept it, but will consider it as a boon in respect to their power. However, once a kingdom partake in this practice, they must continue doing it in every winter, during or before the day of the first snowfall, leaving out the boons in front of their kingdom for the Wind-talker to see, or else they will either destroy a kingdom or break off the pact, leaving the kingdom under the mercy of the weather. After the elemental "accepts" it, anyone can take anything from the offerings, however, some would continue to leave it alone in case of a very proud Wind-talker.

Stealing or eating from the offerings before a Wind-talker can see it will also greatly anger them, and will either destroy the kingdom for "carelessness", or, if the culprit is spotted by the creature itself, will greatly punish the perpetrator.

When under a kingdom's servitude, a Wind-talker can be a powerful protector as it is known to bring forth the harshest of winter weather to an enemy. But maintaining the creature's immense strength can be tricky, as it never follows orders, and is driven by pure instinct.

A Wind-talker is a winter elementals, meaning they only exist during the cold season and will disappear as soon as Spring comes.

((more creature goodness. I'm loving it!))

They tend to be weaker in summers, but they don't disappear completely. I still wouldn't get into a fight with those things. They look like they can swat me with one punch.

Hm, what if the offerings are stolen by someone outside the kingdom's control? Are the Wind-talker's intelligent enough to understand that the Kingdom is not at fault for failing to provide a boon? Would/could they use their strength to punish the thieves or understanding enough to let the kingdom return the boon after a certain amount of time?

They're wild elementals; as mentioned, they will only punish a thief IF they saw him/her on their own two eyes. They can sense malicious intentions when it comes to their boon and letting even one piece of the offerings be stolen is seen by as an act of carelessness of the kingdom. Hence, it's wiser for somebody to watch over the boon until the Talkers sees it. (once they seen it, they don't care about it anymore in a physical term. Anybody can take it, but some leaves it alone just in case of a very proud Wind-talker...)
